Open the live mapOVatlas shows the whole of the Dutch public transport network in motion: every bus, tram, metro and train as its own marker on the map, with line number, current delay and next stop. Not a timetable making promises, but positions showing what's actually happening — refreshed within seconds.
The positions come from the Netherlands' open real-time transit feeds — NDOV loket and OVapi — the same sources that power departure boards at stations. OVatlas combines them with the national timetable, disruption reports and roadworks, and — in cities where it's available — shared rentals such as hire bikes and scooters.
Everything works without an account and without installing anything: the map is a website that runs on any phone or computer. Follow a trip to your stop with a live countdown to arrival, share a journey via the share button with whoever's picking you up, and save your regular lines and stops as favourites.
Yes. OVatlas is completely free and works without an account. The site shows ads to cover server costs.
Vehicle positions are updated on the map within seconds of being received from the national feeds. Delays and departure times are the same ones operators publish themselves.
Every operator that publishes to the national real-time feeds, including NS, RET, HTM, Qbuzz, Arriva, Connexxion and EBS, plus brands like U-OV, Bravo, RRReis and MeerPlus. GVB does not publish live positions yet; departure times at GVB stops are still on the map.
Some trips don't broadcast a position (faulty equipment, replacement service) or only publish delay information. If the feeds don't provide it, the map can't show it.
Yes. Open a trip in journey view and tap the share button: the recipient sees the same live journey with arrival time, without installing anything.
No. Location access is optional and is only used to centre the map near you when you open it. Everything still works without it.
